RAINALDO DE JONG

Born in 1973, Rainaldo started dj-ing in 1988 together with his buddy Frank van Rooijen. In a local club near Utrecht (Netherlands) he experimented with a music genre called "House". With limited money to spend on his 'hobby', Rainaldo still managed to buy almost every classic housetune at his favorite record-store "kareltje" in Utrecht.

Just playing the music was not enough for Rainaldo. In 1992, Rainaldo started making music with a regular PC, just for fun. After creating a lot of tracks on their computer, he made the transition of making music professionally in 1995. The first club/techno track to receive a record-release was on their own clublabel "Flipped Fantasia" (Fan'Attic - XenTriC). Carl Cox, one of the role-models of Rainaldo, started playing this track frequently. A dream come true…….Rainaldo knew that producing the music was his calling.

Soon, the guys at Floo rControl were managing 3 recordlabels (Flipped Fantasia, Boomtown Beats, BTB enhanced series). Keeping the company running well was a tough job. In 2000 they launched a fourth label, called "Ventilate", but after a few months the guys evaluated the core-business of the company and came to the conclusion that the task of managing all these label took too much time away of their producing time. All labels were put on hold and they turned the company back to the path of their core-business ; "Producing music". and from then on the production-train started rolling.

Over the years , together with his partners in crime, Rainaldo managed to produce quite a list of respectable scores in almost every genre thinkable. During the year of 2000, Frank decided to leave Edwin & Rainaldo, so Floor Control nowadays only consists of Rainaldo & Edwin ; Two warriors of dance.... Since communication and productivity only gained after they continued the company with the 2 of them, Edwin & Rainaldo have been spending a lot of time & effort in restructuring the company, rebuilding their 2 fullblown studio's to Digital production areas, talking strategies with record companies for the time to come, and most important, producing new material to come out in 2001.

Since Frank took the Lock 'n' Load project with him when he left, Rainaldo & Edwin decided to start using their corporate name Floor Control as an actname for a while & had to start working on new projects to let the industry know who they are and what they are made of. To make clear they were very diverse in styles, they decided to release the first few new products under the name of Floor Control, regardless of the style.... The 1st two releases, Do You Wanna Dance (Blue Records 40) and Mystic Melody (Antigroove 19) both at the same time climbed up the dutch dance charts to stay there for quite a while during the summer of 2000, while Edwin & Rainaldo were spinning records on the Mediteranian islands to meet their audience & get some teint.... Also a new act called Strike Force was launched, to release hard klubb projects to conquer the dance-floors.. (See the NEWS zone). Since the style introduced on Mystic Melody (a combination of 70's/80's disco with trancy leads & pounding beats) seemed to fill a brand new market for them, they decided to restructure the acts.

After the already signed product on Massive Drive Gold 16 (Floor Control / Have Some Of This / Never Felt This Way) you will see a clear segmentation of the different genres from then on as follows ;

Floor Control

Crossover club/trance with catchy leads & pounding rhythms. (Do You Wanna Dance / Have Some Of This)

Strike Force

Hard Klubb the way it is ment to be, with legendary lead synths & a die hard attitude. (Rock This Place)

Santen & Young

Under this new alter ego, Edwin & Rainaldo will produce records with a groovy touch, often featuring vocals and a little trancy influence. Next to the club mixes, Santen & Young will release Summervibe Radio material. (Mystic Melody)

United DJ's of Utrecht

HardHouse 'the dutch way', with influences from their hardcore past. Also regulary Edwin & Rainaldo will work with diverse Utrecht (the area where they live) resident producers, like they have done in the past on earlier occasions.

To.Be.Announced

A new act that will release typical 'Floor Control Stylee' Techno with a small blink to clubby influences. 6 new tracks have been finished during the last weeks & release will be anounced shortly in the NEWS zone.

DJ Perpetrator, DJ Attic, Sound Enhancers

Allthough it's very busy for the Floor Control Producers, it's too deep in their blood and so in 2001 after more then a year of silence around these names, the HardCore scene will receive a loud wake-up call as Edwin & Rainaldo are currently working on new HardCore/NewStyle/Gabber material to be released shortly.
